hi folks
Due to my need for self flagelation I am posting my most recent escapade! Here's the situation. I run a 72degree thermostat in my car. These units are french made, so perhaps like other pieces of french engineering not very reliable (did you know that one of the reasons the german army was defeated in Russia was that they used captured French vehicles? Perhaps the only good deed done through french engineering!). Anyway I wanted to replace the thermostat, so I do the work, and during the procedure i break one of the old and brittle fan blades. hmmmm... i think...so like the moron that i am i glue it back on (i know..i know...it was an experiment..ok?) the blade snaps again, and lodges itself in the radiator. So out comes the radiator and goes to the shop for repair. I get the radiator back, and install it, but the kid was crying upstairs, and the dog kept bringing his ball and dropping it in my lap while i am under the car trying to tighten the lower radiator hose clamp, and so i put the hose on crooked!! two weeks go by, and the fan (did i mention i bought a new fan?) chews a hole in the lower hose. So of i go to parts store, order a lower radiator hose. The guy hands me the small hose that goes between the waterpump and the head. So i say this is wrong, and he just stands there under the sign that says WE ARE THE PARTS DETECTIVES and gives me a blank stare. I was going to bet him fifty bucks to find me a car, any car, that has a lower radiator hose the is six inches long, and curves upon itself, but he REALLY looked dumb, and i didn't thik he'd get it. Besides he was bigger than me! Anyway I got the hose from the dealer, stick it on, and here i am. Dumb hah?
