: Personally the largest wheels I have had on an e12 are the metric 390s that come on the e28s (this is because I was being cheep and spent the money on my 535is where the wheel came from) Anyways my now deceased 80 528I had E30 M3 wheels with 205/50/15 front and 225/50/15 rear To keep the rears from hiting the fender I rolled them with a base ball bat (THIS WILL DAMAGE YOUR PAINT ) That car was lowered with springs from korman blisten sports (THE ONLY WAY TO FLY) I tried other shocks (kybs) And found the old saying you get what you pay for . I also had suspension Tech. sway bars 28mm and 22mm adj (I bought them in 90 for about 250 or less I can't really remember the name right now but I will dig thruogh my records ) All these goodies are now my euro 79 635 Bolt right on (Remember the 6 seris untill 81 were based on the e12) This car has 16 inch enkis with dunlab d40m2 225/50/16 all the way around and man will this thing hook up .I think Troy was wondering how those guys club racing got 17 inch wheels in those little wheel wells Take a good look at the blue club racer ( Jack piercy car) They cut out some metal and installed fender flares from the first generation of VW GTIs Notice the little rubber flares ( Many years ago this car had 16inch Alpinas)The guys with the green car I don't have a clue how they stuffed those wheels in there ( Those guys where about as friendly as moutian goats) All three oc the track cars have la Carrara coilover struts Real trick stuff The car I am building is going to have these (My boss has a set of these that I am liberating from the dust. They use to be on his ex E12 75 530 hot rod)I saw where the guy with the 733 was wanting Spring advice RD or dinan We (Frair Motor ) recently had a bad experience (very suprised) with Racing Dynamics We installed RD springs on an 81 745i and after a year or so the front right spring broke in half you could see poor quality metal where it broke So we called RD and they Basically told us to go fly a Kite . Nice to see how they stand by thier product The car now rides happily with Dinan Stuff Hope all this rambling on helps and answers questions

Yes the information has been great.

About the Mountain Goat People with the racing e12s. What on earth was connected to the double muffler setup? Must needed to flow like the Amazon to require that much muffler.

Have you checked out the M5 powered Bavaria e3 on the Senior Six web page. Very cool. The person who built must had the last name of Gates or something, because those late M5 mills are not free. Wouldn't something like that look nice in an e12? Maybe someday. Need to convince the wife first.

Thanks for the info.

Wietse
