: : You say you are getting a signal at the coil. Just because you are geting power there doestn't mean you are geting the corect signal You have to have the engine turning over and then your test light should Flicker or pulse if it is not . Here are some things to check on motronic car There are two sensors on the fly wheel one counts the teeth of the flywheel while the other picks up a "little tit embedded in the flywheel) IF one of these sensors fails or more commanly the "tit" breaks off the ignition system will fail (pull off your fly wheel cover and make sure the pickups and the teeth are not damaged be sure to rotate the fly wheel all the way round)It not to uncoman for the ECU to fail Another comman failure on Motronic cars are the main relay and the fuel pump relays ( This doesn't sound like it apllys to you ) The only Coils I have seen go bad on Motronic cars have been due to corosion where the coil wire goes into the coil but there is always a first

: Well said. The test light should tell all. I've never connected one there; it glows/flashes bright enough to be seen?
: Peter

Your suggestions are great. I hooked up the test light and sure enough it pulsed. I had to turn off my garage lights to make sure, because even at a low 600 rmp it should be pulsing 10 times per second and this really ends up looking like a dim glow, but it did pulse. I had to make sure the contacts on the test light were very clean, but it worked.
