Hy,
I recently purchased a 1981 528i that is in (almost)
immaculate shape (I had to give the previous owner
visitation rights).
So what's the problem? The other day I turned off
the engine, pulled out the keys, but the radio kept
playin. Also the clock stayed lit and I found that
the window wipers also WOULD function. In addition
the steering wheel would NOT lock.
The result is that the battery only has about 30
minutes till I have to get my girlfriend to get out
and push.
She has stopped working out now, but I would
rather spend more time with the car alone.
So... where on the column (?) might be the problem?
Ignition switch? Relay? Girlfriend? Any suggestions?
In addition the electric windows will NOT roll down.
