Last summer, I rebuilt my brakes (four new rotors, two new front calipers, new master cylinder, stainless steel/kevlar lines, MetalMaster pads) and used a MityVac vacuum tool to bleed the brakes. The first time I did it, I has results similar to yours. What I discovered is that it is required to pump the brake pedal a few times while bleeding to displace all of the air in the master cylinder. I did that on the second try and all went well. The brake pedal is very hard now and the car really stops.
