Frank-
What is you opinion about using the U.S 528i ECU w/O2 sensor on a 3.5L(either Euro or U.S.-I don't think it should matter)? If the injectors have enough duty cycle available, I would think the O2 sensor would keep the mixture right. The O2 sensor is not involved at WOT anyway. I guess if it leaned out at high rev./WOT, a rising rate fuel pressure regulator could fix it. What do you think?

: : Although I have no first hand experience in this area, I would assume that the stock E12 L-Jet would handle up to a 3.5L. The Euro M535i uses the same injector as the U.S. 528i. The air flow meters for the 2 cars do have different part #'s though. You could probably do the swap totally stock, then if the car seems to lean out at high load/revs, you could bump up the fuel pressure a little. I bet you will not have to.
: : : I have a 3.5L high compression engine with the stock e12 injection in my car. All i did was stuff the engine in with no modifications to the stock injection. It works fine as it is!

: Cliff,
: I have put a Euro M535i engine in my Euro 528i, it works just fine, no modifications
: are needed. It does run a little lean at high rpm (no O2 sensor to compensate)
: unless you change the computer. I'd recommend using a early US 633 ECU/or Euro 635 ECU to match
: the bigger engine.
: Cheers,
