: I hadn't heard the propane idea, but I used a variant thereof. My motor-head pals at work suggested using WD40 or starting fluid. I tried the WD40, and did not distinguish a real notable improvement or speeding up of the idle. I was a bit paranoid of pooling flammables on top of a hot engine, though. I'll give the propane a shot..

: I did find the barbed fitting that the hose going to the charcoal filter could be removed with my fingers (LOOSE!). I get the impression at the dealer and through parts houses that this is supposed to be part of the throttle body...Anybody have this thing get loose? It does not look like it ever had threads... I have a vacuum tap on the lower front side of the throttle body that is plugged. Did this go to the valve cover as an oil breather? I was thinking I would have better luck trying to seal the hole where the barbed fitting won't fit tight, and using the bottom port for the charcoal canister...

: any thoughts?

I gots one of the Euro models so I have an expansion tank (all molded plastic with barbs molded on) but no charcol canister that I can find....
So I'm not sure how it's supposed to work. My shop tells me they fill sometimes but rarely fail, so maybe someone has a used one (in case the ports are not interchangeable).

Peter
