The fan should have 3 speeds. Cliff Robb posted a good explaination on how all of the AC/heater controls are supposed to work on 7/9/98 if you are interested. The contacts in the switch can get corroded, and can be disassembled and cleaned. I would assume that the contacts in the switch would be the same for the heater fan. If you can get multi-speed out of the heater fan (temp knob in heat), the problem is probably not in the switch.
