Troy-
I currently run 15x7 BMW E34 wheels with 205/60/15 Michelin XGTVR4's. While not probably as tight a fit as your set up, I have tons of romm at the tops of the front fenders, and could easily go to 16's or even 17's. How you say? Negative Camber! I have the Dinan camber plates on right now (-1.5 deg.), and they make the front end stick like glue, with the added benefit of lots of tire room. If I were to replace the Dinan parts, I would get the K-Mac units, since they are adjustable camber & castor, and they also replace the stock rubber-mount strut bearing with stronger poly. Take a look at your clearance from the inside sidewall to the strut. If it looks like you could afford to tilt the wheel in a little, get some camber Man!!
: I have 225/50VR16 Dunlop D60A2s mounted on Alpina 16x8 wheels. I had to remove the "tie down" loop on the inside of the right wheel well (as noted by Alpina). There was light but consistent contact there. There is some contact with the rear fender lip, but it is so infrequent, I decided to ignore it.
: In the front, I have 205/55VR16 Dunlop D60A2s on Alpina 16x7. There is more frequent contact with the fender lips (during sharp turns containing a big bump), but I don't want to roll them. I plan to have them flared slightly when the car is repainted. Any thoughts on this?
