What a bunch of whoosies. Your temp guage goes vertical and you wonder if that's too high? Try running a Bavaria and watch that guage go to just a few ticks above RED.
528's tend to run around the first hash mark ont he guage. In traffic, they tend to go up to vertical, and can even go as high as the second hash mark.
Any more, and it an indication the something is wrong/needs attention/about to go.On a Bavaria, this is normal.
If you have a pre-81 head, ALWAYS watch your guage. Vertical is OK.
