I think that BMW suggests a valve adjustment every 15 thousand miles ( This is done during the larger of the inspections we call it a major service) Since your car just had a valve job it wouldn't be a bad idea to have it done Valves tend to get tighter after a vavle job as they get seated in.Tight valves will cause rough idles and can burn . Big sixs get valves are adusted at 10 to 12 thousands of an inch . I set mine at 12.You check the measurement when both valves on the same cyl are closed(the cam lobes are faceing down ) you check the measurement with your feeler gauge on the top of the valve and the ecentric .when you have the valve cover off it is a good time to make sure that the bolts holding the oil tube are tight they are the two 12mm head bolts and commonly workthemselfs lose and reak havic
