: I found an abandoned 1980 528i/5spd

Title?????

: The body has some rust,

BAD.

: though none of it appears to be terminal. The right rear quarter needs help as do
: the rockers (not too bad),

BAD

: but the floors all appear to be quite solid.

Could be good.

: has some collision damage to the nose and will require at least a left front fender
: and a good inspection to determine if the thing is bent and needs to spend time
: on a frame straightener.

BAD

:No rot or dents in the doors/rear decklid.

Good.

: The engine is minus one cylinder head and associated bits.

REAL BAD. Minus one clyander head? It has more than one?

:The tranny/exhaust may be
: described as present.

Bad/Good

: The interior is quite nice other than needing carpets - which really
: aren't too bad, either. The dash is uncracked and all gauges
: are intact. The seats are all quite presentable (beige leather). All door panels
: are OK, all trim appears present an in nice shape. The car has an
: electric sunroof and windows. All glass is OK.

Good

:It also appears to have non-original
: and very nice BMW TRX wheels and Michelins - good finish and few scuffs,

Real BAD. The digest is full of people trying to unload these things.

Even considering the price, there's too many Bads.

Find a good one.
