my 1980 528i ac hasn't worked since i bought the car in 1992. the previous owner said it worked great, alas i bought the car in february and in june when it got warm the ac didn't work. A friend of a friend evacuated and filled the system and it still didn't work.
Anybody ever deal with this? and if so what are the common problems? Is there a good order to troubleshoot the various components in?
I want to find out what the hell is wrong before I go and pay the value of a car to a certified a/c mechanic.
