Hello out there.
I own a 1981 528i and I'm worried that the car is
talkin to me and I may be refusing to listen.
Anyway,the car runs great. What happens tho is that
all of a sudden it will be down up to 2 quarts of
Bavarian tap water in the radiator. I CANNOT find a
leak,and ALL the hoses and clamps are less than
4 months old.
The worse part is that the water loss is NOT consistant.
I drive about 100 miles a day and have been checking
it everyday and there is no consistant loss. It's like all of a sudden
the car says "hey, I think I'll lose 2 quarts of water
today" followed by wild temp gauge readings,and an ice
cold heater. No steam comes out the tailpipe when I
start it. No puddles underneith it. Are these subtle
hints that my head has a crack(the car's head) ? That's
the part I don't want to hear.
SO... are these normal symptoms of impending disaster ?
or have I just missed spotting a leak?
