Hi gang,
First I'll introduce my car (don't laugh) it's a 78 320i, I know what you're thinking that's an E21 not an E12! But wait there's more...it has a 530i L-jet engine in it matched to a 528i 5-speed. Yes the car is front heavy but not as much as you'd think. No A/C, no crank driven fan (just an electric one in front of the rad), and the battery is in the trunk (boot).
OK so here's my problem, I failed the emissions! D'OH! I replaced the AFM with a used unit, the shop guy said they drilled out the adjustment rivet but there was no adjustment to this bad boy and the rest of the story you already know. So is there a better solution than just trying yet another AFM?
I just replaced the ignition wires, plugs, points, cap was changed not too long ago and the car still exhibits a miss or shudder while driving, any ideas on what to replace next? Sorry for the length of the message.
