I'm looking into replacing/rebuilding my front suspension and looked into new strut mounts and was shocked at how much they have gone up. Anyone tried the bavauto camber plates? Are they a straight swap?
thanks all

Recaro installation
I put some in my e12 and it did take some fiddling. The holes didn't exactly line up.

prepump
I think the pre pump should fit in the tank as all the post 76 tanks are the same. Wiring it and possibly a new fuel level sending unit would be the issues I can see.

I think it depends on what you want from the deal. As you've heard before you get what you pay for. I had cheap no name rotors and cheapo pads on my first e12 which was just a commuter, and they did fine for what I needed. They didn't last especially long but they did the job. If I was tracking it ...

MegaSquirt vs Motronic
I have a really nice looking 1981 w/ a euro 3.5 that I've never been able to get running great. It runs ok but never great. It's my 5th e12 and I'd love to have this car for many years to come. I've been doing some research on both MS and the Motronic upgrade but was hoping for some e12 specific ...

re shifter troubles
I've had that exact problem on several e12's and every time it just what you described, the bolts holding the shift lever were loose or in one case actually gone. Each car is a bit different but I never had to drop the exhaust to replace/tighten the bolts tho' you'll probably need a flex u joint ...

Injector Fuel lines
The fuel lines from the fuel rail to the injectors are soft lines and can split/leak. I'd look into replacing those as well.

528i start won't run
I just replaced the starter and ignition switch on my 81 528i and it will start when the key is fully depressed but dies immediately when the key is released. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cold no start
I have a 528i 3.5 that won't start in the cold. If the outside temperature is below 40 degrees it won't start but above it will. It will turn over and occasionally fire. The exhaust smells of gasoline. Starting when the temperature is above it will run rough and rich until it gets up to temp. I ...
