I need new strut mounts for the front of my '79, but i'm hesitant to pay $180 apiece for them when the same part for other models is so much cheaper -- example: E36 = $30 or less.
Question: Is there a drop-in substitute for the E12 strut mount that doesn't cost a small fortune?
Thanks,
PC

I don't know about E36 mounts, but one thing to beware of is the actual shaft of the strut that goes thru the mount is fairly large on E12s, much larger than say on E28s. The 3 point bolt pattern would probably be easier to adapt even though it would appear different
