I just got my e12 running. I have a leak on the oil pressure sensor so I am going to replace it anyway but here is my question:
I you are going at speed and hit the brakes suddenly the oil pressure light comes on briefly. Any thoughts on why it might be doing so?????

You're probably low on oil. Early Bav pans were pretty bad at that, E12's not so bad, but somewhat vulnerable and E28s dont seem to do it at all. But check your oil, I bet it's down a quart or more.

what is was is gas in the oil. there is extreme blow by. we changed the oil and are waiting until the weather warms slightly to road test then check oil again.Mike W. wrote:You're probably low on oil. compression is down, it seems the person whom I paid to build this and from whom I bought the block didn't bother to check compression....
wonder if it is time to call him our on the local club board where he is revered as a god.... runs a shop without a business license as well I do believe....
