Could very well be my tacho not reading right - Although I have checked it against my digital meter and the tacho is pretty close to the meter.
This is the third E3 I've done the L-jet to and both 528i setups had the same rev limit. The first one I did a long ago using 530i parts and I retained my points dizzy (if I recall correctly) and the motor just screamed well past 6200 RPM.
I looked around for ecu mods pertaining to l-jet, but could only find a mod for m20's - Thanks, George

Yep, I did a L jet conversion on an E3 with 530i parts and there was no cutoff, I saw 7K once or twice.

But it was the FI ECU that would allow that, not the points setup. Funny thing was I actually lost torque and economy, but a little more high end, the sky was the limit on revs and driveability was a thousand times better. At least.
yes exactly

The first one I did seemed much better with the 530i parts - jules verne tubing and all. I do have what I think is a 530 ecu, but it didn't work very well. I'll have to do some more researching.
I'm just over in Concord. Do you still live in the Bay Area? You going to check out the bayarea02 swap and show thing? I'm planning on bring my Golf E3.

More or less still in the Bay area, depending on how you define it. Just this side of Mendocino County. No, I hadn't heard about the bayarea02 swap and show thing, but I'd love to see a nice bright E3.

here are some links
