rear shoulder seat belts

I have 1977 530i that only has lap seat belts in the back seat. I am interested in having shoulder belts back there. I have some spare sets out of a later E12, but am wondering if the upper threaded lugs are in the earlier E12's.
Anybody know?

I doubt it. If they are hiding behind the headliner and foam you could feel them by poking around.

I removed the rear seat back in my car....and yes....the lugs are there for the retraction portion of the belt.
As for the C-Pillar lug, I do feel a void in the foam right where it should be. Is there an easy way to pull back the headliner without damaging it to see. I would like to verify before I poke a hole in the headliner.

My 1975 has three point rear belts, so unless they did special production runs for the US, I'd say they should be there.

When I got my '77 it didn't have rear shoulder belts. I took some from an '81 528i parts car and put them in w/o any problems. The 528i release buttons on the latches were on top instead of on the side like the earlier cars though (I like the later design better). So, don't forget to pull the fronts too so everything matches.
