Early and late fan switch interchageable?

I can't remember...is the early fan switch with analog clock interchangeable with the late fan switch with digital clock? Please tell me yes!

Yes, the answer is "yes"
But the AC edition isn't fully interchangeable with the no AC version.
If your fan isn't working - firstly check the fan itself, then the resistor block (for the fan speeds) and cables also and after that the switch.

No, my current system works fine, however the fan switch is very sticky. I just want to replace the center fan/clock with the earlier analog clock version since the fan switch rotates much easier. Plus I like the clock.
I have to assume that the early car this switch came from had AC as all the US cars had AC.

Eric,
It is probably just a bit of old grease in there. I would recommend that you pull it apart, clean and re-grease. It is so great to have all of these controls working like new.

I do plan to do that but I prefer the analog clock and the fan switch moves very freely. So if that works I can take my time refurbishing the one that's in the car now.
