Stubborn, too much free time,...turning the key keeps it closed, locked. Otherwise, the (black odd melamine ?) plastic latch, one piece from the paddle exterior handle,...is two pieces. So far, just glue isn't the correct magic super tech, " Bonds anything, sauce solution.

Anyone found the right stuff ? Or, fiberglass resin, a glue that will work if (stubborn) drilled holes for pins ?

Far as I can tell it's realoem ended to be a scrounging adventure for the latch otherwise.

Really I think a new/new used one is the right solution, but I fixed one long ago by gluing it with a superglue I think it was, then drilling a couple of holes and inserting and gluing some 3/32 or 1.8" welding rod in there as stiffeners. I think it held as long as I used it but I found another one and replaced it preemptively. Plain old glue? No, it's not going to work. I suppose long, long shot you might be able to weld/glue it with a solvent glue, probably PVC cement, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it working.

Like this : I note the gizmo is broken, lost, on a shelf instead of on the car, or making strange noises short of one loud one. I proceed to post the situation(s), conclude the solution will not present itself to me with further spinning around under one index finger on top of my head, and go on to the next thing. Perhaps looking for my glasses.

Mine broke about two weeks ago, BavAuto had the replacement, the part number is "51 16 1 817 651"
