77 530i with overdrive transmission/cross-member question

Full of questions here, 77 530 with 5 speed transmission. Should there be spacers between the guibo and drive-shaft as in the M535?, or do I need to source out a different drive-shaft?

Also, the transmission is being held with one mount only and the cross-member is not perpendicular to the transmission but slanted in order to support the transmission..

Trying to make the car right and safe...

Thanks for the help!
Philip.

No spacers, driveshaft flange, guibo, transmission output flange. A 3HP22 driveshaft will work with a G265, loosen the collar clamp on the two halves of the driveshaft and you can make minor adjustments. Retighten and adjust the center support for proper preload.

5 speeds came with different crossmembers, E12 5 speeds only used a single relatively large rubber mount, later cars used 2, smaller mounts. It is possible to beat a 4 speed crossmember into submission with a sledge and anvil, I have but don't recommend it, but I don't think you can with an A/T crossmember. Regardless, a 5 speed one is preferred, either the E12 single mount or the E28 double mount. E28 parts look better, I'm not sure there is much difference in performance.

I believe the part you need is an aluminum casting that comes off an E-28
Get a new bushing, they're like $8.

Call Marshal at 002 Salvage, he has them.
