Hi,
I've got some electric problems on my Euro 525 (dual carb) from 75 that I'm in need for some advice on.
I’ve got a short on fuse no.6 which triggers every time I turn the key to start the car. It does start but since the fuel pump is on fuse no.6 it stalls when idling. The problem started when I changed to a new battery.
The old one kept getting depleted when the car wasn't used. I don't know if the battery was just bad/old or if there was a parasitic draw causing this.
The new battery is was 60Ah but the manual states 55Ah. I've tried to switch back to the 55Ah but the short is still there.
Could the 5Ah diff have caused the problem?
The fuse no.6 is stated to be wired to:
Fuel pump
Instrument panel (Warning lamps, gauges, tacho)
Reversing lights
Thermo Starting-valve
I've so far disconnected the fuel pump and the multi-connectors behind the instrument panel but the short was still there.
I have very limited experience in troubleshooting electrical problems so what would you advise me as the next step or specific areas that I could start looking at?

Battery capacity has no influence whatsoever on the appearance of short circuits.
But changing a battery can.
I'd check first if there are any cables around the battery tray that you might have moved / damaged while changing the battery.
