Side window loose from frame.

The side window glass fits into the up/down frame (factory) using a black shim pad of some kind of rubber,... and glue.

Anyone successfully repaired, reattached the glass to the bracket ? Specifically the process necessary : Pad material, and the type (brand name at the parts store) of glue.

Adhering to glass over any length of time, remaining that way while being subjected to the up/down motions, seems to be iffy if one trusts the glue's claims on the label.

That's an easy one. Just clean it up with solvent and glue it back together. I've used several different ones over the years, I think my current favorite is Mirror Mastic, but construction adhesive works well too. I've heard of epoxy too. Never had one come loose again either.

Thank you, as usual.

Only because I've been there, done that twice, carefully cleaning the bracket, shim pad, glass with solvent,...

Wrong solvent ? Gunk, 409, clear water rinsed, dried,...alcohol ? Windex ?

Glue ? Both I used let go in six months.

Mirror Mastic it shall be. No more generic adhesive, epoxy choices that work great, never come loose again for me.

Solvent solvent. Spray carb cleaner. Lacquer thinner. Something like that. I can't remember, do E12s use a screw on that clamp or just however it welds together? If screw, make sure it's tight. And of course let it fully cure, IIRC you're in a part of the country where it gets very cold in winter, give it plenty of time.

Correct on the cold winters, except this one has been mid-forties, no snow. Thanks to all those suffering from global change CO2 warming hot air gas, I don't mind it instead of 20 degrees below zero for two months.

Forty and below is too chilly to be removing the inner door panel, prying out the nylon pegs, playing with the glue setting. Optimism ISIS won't blow my fanny off before May inspired the questions.

There is no set screw in the bracket. Only a few of mine are loose.

Thank you, I believe I'm all set for May.
