My car had a miss like you describe - light throttle openings (crawling down the back alley type stuff) it was there, the higher the rpm, the less noticeable the miss. Chased it down for weeks, checked everything from top to bottom and found lots of things but none of them cured the miss. Finally broke down and pulled the plugs I'd installed only 3 months ago - sure enough they were badly fouled from the leaking valve stem seals. Popped in a new set of plugs and the miss vanished...until the plugs fouled again.
Need to get that 3.5 dropped in one of these days.
