Early E39's had a nice open basketweave in 15", later ones were 16's, and I think the offset is correct on both, and the bolt pattern is definitely the same. They were the base wheels so they're pretty common. Technically you should use a hubcentric spacer as the hub is slighly larger than E12's, but it's much less of an issue on E12's than E28's with their hypersensitive front ends. The optional 17" sport wheels on E39's are a basketweave and 3 piece wheels. They're great looking wheels, but I've heard them described as "everyones favorite wheels until the first time they have to clean them", unlike the base wheels which aren't too bad. There were some 15" basketweaves on E34's too, with small difficult to clean openings. As to where to get them, junkyards, Craigslist etc. If you were on the left coast I'd try to push some nice 14's I expect to have for sale next week, complete with great tires. But shipping would be a killer.

Mike
