I need to get some advice for a friend of mine who has an '80 e12 that used to be mine. He stopped using the car a year or so ago (I'm not exactly how long it has sat, maybe 2 years) and didn't do anything to prepare it. It started fine before. Anyway, lo and behold it won't start--cranks fine, but no ignition. He put in some "new" gas but never drained the old gas. He was about to replace th plugs when he called me. My thoughts are that he should drain all of the gas in the tank (I'm not sure how to remove that between the fuel pump at the tank and the engine), and then put in new gas and replace the plugs. Does anyone else have more advice?
