I currently have a shifter that has the ball slightly lower to give me that 'short shift', but I am finding it too sloppy. I am looking for a full kit that replaces the bearings, etc, so I can eliminate the slop in the shifter.

Auto Solutions is one of the companies I am looking at. I did feel one is an E28 M535i and I liked it...perhaps not as much as the UUC in another E28, but certainly enough that I would consider one if the UUC kit will not work out.

I am also looking into the UUC short shifters (they currently offer the EVO3 version). I also really like the feel of this kit (local 5er Buddy has UUC kits in his E28s). This is the feel I am looking for.
So, here's the problem, UUC doesn't offer one for the E12....but plenty for the E28!
Has anyone ever tried successfully installing a UUC kit in the 80+ 528i? If so, are you happy with the kit? Which kit did you buy?
The site indicated that they all use the “USSE5” version. I though that there were several transmissions offered for the E28! Would they all use the same linkage/shifter?

As far as I know, the Getrag 265 was available in the 80-81 528i and I thought they also came in an E28...don't know which model/year though.
So, would it be possible that a UUC kit which would be designated for that particular E28 with the G265 also fit the E12 as well?

I know I am leaning towards the UUC kit more than the Auto Solution. I really enjoy the shift with this kit.

Anyone else have any of the two companies mentioned above?

If you are using another company, feel free to write your feedback.

Thanks in advance,
Eddie
