Dear Andrew, If you'll send me an address I'll send you a ELEC. Troubleshooting Guide which have schematic's in it.This guide was set up for 530's but I'm sure it's the same for '81 528i's. It worked for me when I took dash out and sucessfully put back in . Let me know and I'll get it in the mail! See how humble yet GREAT First- Fivers are!! Best Wishes. Bob
