I lived in San Pedro and Long Beach; way back in '79, when Chris Pook and Dan Gurney thought there should be a street race as in Monaco.
Where new is now, was an old amusement park, skin flicks, and laundermats for the sailers. Oh, and the toll for the bridges to Terminal island were set to expire in 1985 when the bridge was paid for.
