I've never heard of the pedal bracket cracking as it does on many E28's, including mine. I suspect the problem, besides too weak a bracket, is it mounts to the side, not at the end, so you are imparting side torque every time you push on the pedal. A kind of twisting action. The good part of that design is you can get really good at changing the clutch master, quickly. Ask me how I know, LOL.
