I lubed my rr window parts while looking for the leak.
All went well. The plastic was intact. (oh well) When I pulled the front passenger panel the window switch just fell apart in my hand! Ohh S%*t! After trying to put the wires in the correct holes per the rr switch, I found the box the wires insert to, has the wrong set-up. No wonder it fell apart! It must not've been snapped closed.
Went to pik a part on Lomita Blvd. #310) 549-4533 & luckily found a black 528i. I could tell by the right side mirror being black & mounted right next to the window plus the trunk designation, plus the digital clock, so there! It just hit me, I think it was a stick/5sp. A sunroof too.
Anyway, I got the window switch, along with the part where the wires go through the back that the switch plugs into. I'm so smart, I hope! BTW, The seats had been re-done in Burgundy cloth w/ tan naugahyde facing.
They'll look great with just a LITTLE cleaning. I'm going back tomorrow, Sun. to get the passenger seatbelt receptor. You know what I mean, whatever!
Because of this & a lil more, I haven't and won't get to see that rebuilt, but in pieces car. Sorry!
