I just drove 45 mins. to get my manual, and they ordered the wrong one.
I've done some testing with a volt meter and a test light.
I have three lines going to the coil.
1)-blk with red-connected to side of coil 15/+.
(looks like it is connected to starter).
2)-small black-connected to side of coil marked 15/+.
3-another black-connected to side of coil marked 1/-.
When I tested the #1 line, the voltage meter and test light went on to 9 to 12 volts when the engine cranked.
When I tested #2 line, it lit up the test lite and v. meter when the key was in the "ON" position.
Here is where I get confused.
This only work when I put the meter and the test light to a separate ground line and not if I connected it between the 1/- and 15/+ ON the coil or too line # 3 separately..
So, I am thinking it is line #3 that is my problem.
Where does this line go to back from the coil?
Is it a ground?
I checked with the meter and this line is conductive with the two lines that go into the bottom of the distributor.
Are they all grounds?
I am so sorry about this as well. I only meant to do a quick cap, rotor and coil exchange and now am clueless since I am without my manual still.
I'm wondering if I fried a fuse relay or the condensor maybe???
I am getting power to the coil, but nothing after that to the distributor....
ANY THOUGHT WOULD BE WELL RECEIVED!!!!!
Thanks again you guys....
