when I go to test the coil, I get no reading.

If I take the wires off and check them, there is a good reading from them.

how can I check the coil?

anyway to do it separately?

If the positive line was on and came off the coil and actually hit the coil and sparked....would that fry the coil while I was trying to start it?

I replaced a bad end on the positive wire and put it back on initially yesterday while I was switching the coil itself.

But after my first try to start the car , I got out to look and thought it had just popped off.

Now I am thinking it popped off and hit the coil while I was trying to start it.

Call me "rookie"......
