Is there such a thing as rounded or cupped rocker arms so when the valves are adjusted, the feeler gauge doesn't allow for the extra space at the contact point? My mechanic seems to think so; maybe. If the rockers are that bad/old, do they need to be replaced?
I just pictured the setup. The eccentric rolls thru rocker arm. How could it resemble a puncture?
All I know is when I adjusted the valves, it clattered much more than before. This never happened with my 2002. But, the '02 is a 4-spd.
