I think the link will work for a pic of the switch, if not, think a coolant temp sensor by the thermostat, but with 2 terminals.
I forget if 530's use a relay or not to switch the fan on, but you could certainly use a toggle on the kick panel to manually turn it on and off. Check the fan operation by shorting the two leads going to the switch together, and if that works, I'd buy a new switch first, they're not that expensive. Then do a manual switch. But make sure the fan works before you do the wiring.
