A quick glance at "car parts to go.com" shows they carry sports for a 77 E24. Might want to give a confirming phone call or email, but it's worth a try.
If they don't, I'm pretty sure all the later E12 stuff, like 528i will bolt up to the control arm etc. And they are cheap at pick and pull. Only caveat would be to make sure the spindle isn't worn due to a bearing turning on it at some time.
