yes. it has begun. luckily, my 79 528i seems pretty water-tight. just an occasional drip from the sunroof. but this time last year, when we had a little bit of rain, i was still driving my as-of-then-not-yet-stolen porsche 911. the floorboards turned into water troughs daily. i finally narrowed the leaks in that car down to the windshield and rear window rubber.
on your 530, i would suggest checking the state of your window gaskets. if they do seem kind of brittle, they could be yr culprits. if you are not up to replacing them yourself, the cheapest but high-quality place in town that i know of is ms glass, at the corner of nw 85th st and 3rd ave nw.
