Someone off the Grassroots bulletin board was kind enough to give me this site as a possible for some information. I have ended up with a 1975 530i and a 633csi. Long story involving the police/alchol/and my brother. Anyway the 530i is black, 4spd, sunroof, with 110,00 miles from Nevada vin number 50109556 The body is really quite straight except for a ouch on the hood nose. The interior looks/smells like homeless people have been living in it. Cost to me so far $40 for the tow to the house. I know nothing about BMWs. I currently run a modified Omni GLHt in solo, A SHO and a TR-8 under restoration. My brother is saying the trans from the 5 will replace the one in the 6 which is missing. Don't know if it's wishful thinking or the Jack Daniels talking. My 17 year old daughter has cast her eye on the 5 and wants to know if we can get it running for her. I imagine it would be a safe car, I have my doubts about it doing well in the snow though. I picked up the Bimmer mag the other day that has the article on 5's in it. says that the E-12 doesn't last long in rust enviroments-and here in Alaska if it can rust it will!
a. Worth keeping?
b. What mods can be reasonably done/
c. Parts hard to locate/cost/
