Today I parted out my e12 520i.
It was kinda sad, but a fun day spent with my wife's car-guru uncle.
The engine is destined for a 2002, round light classic, belonging to a cousin - so I will get to see bits of it again! We pulled it out today, and one intake valve is sticking very slightly, but other than that it is still tight with stock comp no's on 3/4 cylinders, and we're pulling the head anyway. It was, as I have always suspected, an e21 motor.
There are a bunch of almost-new parts that I will offer to board members first, before they go on the 'bay. Email me offline to ask about:
- Brake boosters - new
- master cylinder - new
- calipers - rebuilt, and rear drums, also rebuilt.
- New brake lines
- Reco front struts with Boge inserts
-Complete K-Jet setup:
- New warm-up regulator
- Good fuel dist.
- Good throttle and plenum
- 4x intake runners, with a line on a further 2 for a full set of 6 for the much vaunted "320i intake runner" upgrade
- Complete exhasut system, NEW - stainless fron the enginepipe back, and straight-through.
- half-shafts/CV's, both reco.
- A set of the nicest condition turbines I've seen
- Complete front suspension, as seen in my rebuilt howto at http://mike.aussiefiverdriver.com 5000k's on it maximum.
This stuff is all the new bits I had on the car... PLenty more for scroungers.
I know this stuff is generally 520 specific, and will mist likely only suit the local drivers of the m10 powered 520i's...
However, I'm writing here mostly just to tell the story!
Cheers,
Mike E
