Gentlemen (and Ladies)...

You have given your all in helping me to get my e12 started. I have faithfully followed your advice. Yet somehow, victory has eluded us...

Here are the undeniable facts:

1. The car cranks great until the battery runs out of juice but it won't start.

2. There is no spark at the plugs (held a couple of wires against the block--nothing. Even pulled #6 plug out, attached it to the wire and looked for spark in the plug itself--nothing.)

3. There is strong, rapid spark at the wire to the center of the cap. (Held to the block, it is easy to see this. Also, I have swapped out coils and still no start.)

4. Cap and rotor have been checked, and even swapped out--still no change.

5. Timing is dead on. (I checked this statically just to be sure. It is perfect.)

6. Plug wires are very new and I don't see/hear any arcing. They are also arranged in proper order. Yes, I even checked to be sure of this.

Fact that is possibly somehow related (though unsure how):

1. Seems to be a slow battery drain related to fuse #5. I have no trunk light or glove box light, and nothing else seems to be stuck on. Anyway, even on a charged up battery, it cranks hard, but still no start.

OK...so I just thought I would give everyone the whole story before I parted with my hard-earned cash to get this thing towed to the evil bimmer mechanic who will carge me $400 to tell me one of my plug wires was not on tight enough (yes, I checked this)

So...any ideas? I sure don't have any...

Thanks SO much,

KenB
