The noise stopped. Adding fuel. I don't know from journalists, my '79 and '81 have run quiet even with the low fuel light flickering. This one wasn't dry, or the light wasn't on and it got itself to the pumps.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Until winter in the middle of Wyoming.
