As Peter said, having at least some of the faster traffic pass you is a good defensive move. That's still my primary defense.
Another is to stay in the right lane as much as possible. One trooper advised me that hanging out in the left lane (my habit till then) made me look like I intended on passing the general flow of traffic (true). It also made me easier to track.
Signal all your lane changes.
Make sure they can't hear your exhaust or radio.
Make sure all the lights work, so they have one less excuse to stop you. (this is my son's general problem)
Get your automotive thrills in closed course events--track time or autocross.
But once the authorities get your number, you're going to get a lot of attention until they get bored with watching your safe driving. A co-worker of mine noticed that he got a lot of attention shortly after his teenage son started driving. The police couldn't tell who was behind the wheel at any given time, and his son had attracted attention it the classic manner of the adolescent male.
I really got into that defensive mode while driving a red Porsche across south Alabama and Mississippi in '70.
