I had read this also and so didn't use either 10W40 or 15W40. I then read an article about the Delo oil and so I thought I'd try it. This oil is run by the Semi diesel guys for what we would consider extended oil change periods. At certain intervals they take oil samples for analysis and only change oil when they sample says they should. They supposidly get many miles out of this type of oil (up to 10k or so). I guess the extended changes make sense since these trucks hold so much oil (up to like 10 gallons or more) and it can get pretty expensive. Based on this I figured I'd try it and have had no problems. I haven't sent any oil out for analysis though. I might try that just to see what results I get.
