Peter,
The car is an 80' 528i with the air valve mounted on the valve cover. I can't see any visable cracks in the hoses. When I mentioned poor performance I mean the car has a noticeable decrease in power as I step on the gas. I believe gas mileage is also suffering. Would another fault in the fuel injection system such as, a bad computer or... be causing this? I've also replaced the O2 sensor recently.
