It seems to me (not knowing the purchase price) it would be a "good" deal. For me if the head is new and ready to go it will save you several weeks of "car" down time for no extra expense. Having a head built can take weeks to months depending upong the machine shop and your "need" for it.
I, after 6 months have still not recieved my rebuilt head back from the local shop as I told them --no hurry. I plan on helping him assemble it tommorow night (time to go out and buy a 6 pack of Guinness I guess)
So I recommend to buy the MM head.
The only thing you need to check is if the cam setup for a motronic or L-jet car. But then again MM sells an adapter nut for conversion.....
As for warranty... I doubt MM would honour any as it was bought from an ex-employee --not from them.
Unless they did something terribly wrong in the assembly or machining there shouldn't be any problem.
