I've raced karts for a long time. Super handling, no suspension, no shifting. (I know they do now) I'm spoiled, or it would take an Indy car to feel the same. Thus, I am a complete novice learning springs, weight transfer, (wow ! if you let off in a corner) and shifting.
I understand your technique to be much like driving a kart ? Off the gas, brake to proper entry speed, THEN shift to the gear you want to pull you off the corner.
Not: 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, brake, accellerate...but brake, shift to 2nd, accellerate.
On the street I just practice the technique, no hairy stuff.
