In our '77 530i, my son, Robert, reports a "creaking"
noise when the steering is being moved to its extreme
left or extreme right positions while the car is moving
slowly. For example, when making a hard left or hard
right turn as you pull away from a stop.
Any ideas? Many of the steering parts are only 8 years
old or even newer. Anyone else have this problem or
know of it being a common problem? With a known common
cause?
