I think your throttle is not set up correctly. If you plugged the aux air valve when the car is warm it should idle correctly.
Mine idles about 1400 at first and then as it warms it settles to about 900 or so.
It's real important the car is set up warm first then deal with warm-up.
Warm the car up with the partially open valve. Then switch to the valve that closes when warm and let it warm up well.
Close the throttle bypass all the way. Car should idle at about 500 rpm warm. If not, loosen the throttle stop locknut and adjust the throttle stop screw for 500 rpm and lock it down again.
Then adjust the throttle bypass screw for 900 or so. This must be done with the car completely warm.
Note this is a new procedure I have not tried yet but will on sunday. But it makes sense. Got it out of an Bosch Fuel injection tuning book (not Bently) I found and Barnes and Noble.
Let me know if I should try it. <-;
If you have the big diaphram looking thing with 2 1" hoses and a small vacuum line hooked to it, disconnect the small vacuum line while you're doing this adjustment.
